Greetings from the sunny, Canadian smoke-shrouded Yards. Today you’ll receive Chapter 29 of “A Fair Trade.” While Beth has slipped from his grasp, Haley shares more—perhaps too much—with Kyle.
The third chapter of “The Coach’s Wife” will also be posted. With their initial encounter winding down, unexpected emotions explode within the confused Hiram and Mrs. Jenkins.
Unfortunately, I had a bit of a delay with Chapter 17 of “The Immortal.” It was one of those requiring a good deal more work. However, I plan on getting that to you with next Saturday’s releases. The following chapters are underway, but also needed a lot of pruning, adjusting, and copious amounts of harsh editing.
Thanks to all of you who’ve been so gracious, supporting the site and me by purchasing “A Fair Trade” and “The Coach’s Wife.” And to those of you who’ve emailed me with feedback—wow. Thank you. It’s what keeps me sharing.
And just as I’m getting my home repainted, the heat has arrived. However, I’ve completed several shorter stories and editing passes on older tales. 2023 is flying!
Today, Chapter 28 of “A Fair Trade” will come your way. Almost perfect timing. Kyle and his mother engage in some risqué Memorial Day barbecue antics.
Also, the second chapter of “The Coach’s Wife” will release. As the encounter in the woods continues, hints of unexpected emotions surface between Hiram and Mrs. Jenkins.
And the next chapter of “The Immortal” has clambered from The Yards. Its update/editing is complete at last. Chapter 16 has Jim and Kali reuniting. Once again, the Baron’s stirring up trouble. I’m processing future chapters, so never fear, Jim’s tale continues.

Today marks the release of my latest novel, “The Coach’s Wife.” It goes live on Bookapy for those kind enough to support me and the site. Like Aiden from The Ring Saga, this new character, Hiram, is dear to my heart. On the cusp of graduating high school, he’s tossed by the many twists and turns of his new world. The first chapter will post today for free and recounts how his saga begins. Further chapters will post every Saturday.
Also Chapter 27 of “A Fair Trade” should launch. Strange things happen to Kyle at the pond and Beth texts.
Well, with two novels posting for the rest of the years, what do you think I’m doing? Yep, writing more stuff. Most are shorter stories heading for anthologies exclusive to Bookapy. Shorts don’t seem to do well on SOL; ya’ll appear to favor longer-running fare. Also, commissions have picked up over the summer. So I’ll be focusing on those. Yummy, good stuff. We’ll see if the clients will permit posting once complete.

If you’re wondering where I was, May has been devoted to polishing and preparing the next novel. It will introduce a complex new main character. He’s already in several novellas and rough novels awaiting work deeper in The Yards. As of today, twenty-seven of thirty-three chapters are complete. Once they’re all done, I’ll begin posting here and selling the complete story on Bookapy.
Today, Chapter 26 of “A Fair Trade” will be submitted. Kyle receives an interactive vidphone call from Jeri and he also makes a mistake. I’ll have Chapter 27 out to Subscribestar supporters.
You should also see Chapter 15 of “The Immortal” today. As the trip to Mt. Aristeia continues, Jim gets more quality time snuggling with Mandy, Susan, and Desi.
On an admin note, proving there is always more to learn, my thanks to Lazeez for walking me through the process of uploading the covers to SOL-posted stories. I rather enjoy creating them for the ePubs you’ll find for purchase on Bookapy so it seemed a waste not to share them wider. Ah, it’s the little things.
