The Spirit of Christmas

Posted at

Ho, ho, ho! Meerrrryyyy Christmas! Due to the gentle encouragement of several readers, I have posted another chapter. (those who were whining and chastising, well, you get to benefit from those of your colleagues, who were measured and encouraging in their manner. Ho, Ho, HO!)

To be fair, this one does not really have any smut within. It moves things along, plot-wise, a bit, and sets things up for Chapter 4. In Chapter 4, there is excitement, and some sex (not much). This story winds up being around 5 chapters, all told (so to speak...), and I see it concluding in 2 weeks. That is, chapter 4 the end of this week, and Chapter 5 the end of next week.

So, thank you all for reading, and Merry Christmas to you all.

How long does it take to complete a story?

One correspondent asked, "Why do you start a story and take months to finish it. .??"

Reasonable question. First off, there is the fact that I write these stories because it amuses me to do so. Indeed, oftentimes, the impetus is "Ya know, if the author had written this story in THIS way, it would appeal to me more!" Therefore, since I'm a student of the "if you want it done on your terms, perhaps you ought to be the one doing it" school of thought, I then set out to do it THAT way. Therefore, since this is a hobby, I do it at a pace that entertains me. And, interpose it between other demands upon my time. Like work, housework, time with my wife, time with my kids and grandkids, and other hobbies. Oh, yes: and sleep. Blessed, blessed, sleep.

Then, there is the variable intercession of my Muse. Occasionally, a story appears to write itself, with one plot element flowing into my brain, and out of my fingers into the keyboard and onto the screen, almost effortlessly, seamlessly eliciting the next plot device. Other times, it is slog. One story, tentatively titled "Neighborly Swap", has been appearing in fits and starts on my screen since before the summer of 2015. (BTW, I HIGHLY recommend Chemical Ollie's original story of that very name. I am attempting to answer the question, "what happens the next day?" with my effort.) As this demonstrates, inspiration takes time and effort, in order to try to contrive a tale that I would like to read.

Then, there is my habit of posting a story a chapter at a time, at roughly one week intervals. Yes, that can be tedious for some readers. On the other hand, it appears to buff up the read/download numbers, and, I like to think, similarly buff up the scoring. That, however, is a hypothesis in search of supporting data.

Finally, from time to time I post a story that is not entirely completed. Sometimes, I am simply weary of that story, and post it to both get it out there, as well as get it of my metaphorical plate. Other times, I'm eager to receive feedback, and that may help improve the subsequent telling of the rest of the story.

So, in my opinion, I'm providing fair value, for the price that I receive. I have to admit, it is indeed a form of flattery, to receive comments that anybody is any sort of impatient to read more of what I write. So, for that, I thank you.

Tryst or Trust: another chapter.

I have just submitted another chapter of Tryst or Trust. While I'm submitting this story, along my typical one-chapter-each-week sort f schedule, I am working on another chapter of Emily in the Dark. Oh, yes: and working, including extra shifts, at my regular IRL job.

Those who wrote and asked if I could/would take Emily's story farther, thank you for being engaged. I'm flattered that you (a) cared enough to read the whole thing, as well as (b) comment, and (c) request more. Simply in the spirit of no malarkey, The Next Chapter will not be ready anytime soon. I anticipate a February launch. That will permit me enough time to write it at all, attempt to weave a nearly credible story, and sort through it several times to attempt to correct typos, find ms spellings, and make the story flow.

So, for that and other reasons, thank you for your patience.

Emily in the Dark

A surprising number of folks wanted more of the Emily story. Thank you, all, for your engagement with this story. I am beginning to work on a seventh chapter of this narrative. I hope, for those of you who enjoyed it, that this will also provide you with entertainment.

While I'm working on this, I'm posting a new story, "Tryst or Trust: Another Cheating Wife Story". There will be a chapter a week, more or less.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for commenting.

"Emily", and a new story

My announcement that chapter six was the last to be heard of Emily in the Dark, triggered an abundance of response. I am flattered that so many folks wanted to hear more of Emily's and Mark's adventures. To each reader who took the time to send me a message, and comment on Emily, well, thank you. I'm actively contemplating what new adventures might transpire, and how I might tell that tale without weighing the story down with "we skulked, we slept, we boffed, we skulked, we boffed, we slept..." So it would be, ya know, interesting, for the entire story. I am working on that thought!

So, it occurred to me that it might be interesting to view one scene from "Road Trip Tease", that I viewed from a different angle in "Road Trip Tease Voyeur", in yet a DIFFERENT perspective. The thought was "suppose the naked fellatrice wife, was sucking off her paramour? And the husband stumbled onto that tableau?"

The new story, which seemed to pretty much write itself, resulted. "Tryst or Trust: Another Cheating Wife Story" is the result. I hope folks enjoy it, while I try to develop a sensible storyline for additional chapters of "Emily".

Thank you all for reading. Thank you for commenting. Lets see if I can present further tales, that you enjoy as much.
