I'm closing in on finishing Chapter Twelve of Emily In The Dark. It's taken longer than I expected, since I already had the story arc in mind when I picked it up again. Well, work, vacation, sleep (Ah! Blessed sleep!), family events, and so forth.
As a side note, when you are an old fart, on a cruise, and a stunningly attractive young woman is prone, is sun bathing on an upper deck, and loosens her top so as to not get tan lines, well, she might not (or might) want to prop up on her elbows to mess with her phone. Well, SHE might not want to, as reflected by her forearms and elbows concealing her nipples, but I sure as hell wanted her to rear up just a little higher. What I could see, was sun warmed perfection.
Her perspective on me, however, would, in reality, be something else altogether. Still, she is filed away, perhaps as inspiration for another of my stories.
Thank you, Conradca, for your correction. For the rest of you, see if you can find it! (that's my sly trick, to get you all to re-read it! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!)
I'm chugging away at Chapter Twelve, and anticipate that Chapter 13 ought to close things up. Thank you for reading, and thank you for the kind comments! I'm glad you've enjoyed it!
I finished Chapter 11 earlier in the week, and subjected it (as is my usual practice) to several rounds of proofreading. I think another chapter will get our travelers "home", and then perhaps one more regarding household arrangements. At that point, unless I'm writing a novel, this tale is pretty much done.
Thank you one and all for reading. Thanks to all who have thoughtfully commented.
I have just submitted Chapter Ten. Lay over in Argyle, so our protagonists can rest and refit.
BTW, the note for the Prologue (aka Synopsis), in the description, got truncated. My intent was to have it read:"Due to the hiatus between posting chapter seven, and writing chapter eight (and following chapters), one reader suggested that I provide a review of the previous material, for those who might want to read the entirety of the preceding chapters. (although, I cannot imagine why they might elect to deprive themselves!)"
Perhaps I was overly wordy?
As always, comments are welcome. Thank you for reading!
If you haven't already checked out "Neighborly Swap", please consider doing so. I submitted it all in one go, simply to test out the feedback some readers provided, that the dribs-and-dabs, one chapter a week that is my usual pace, is frustrating. What do you think? About the story, about the post-it-all-at-once approach? Thank you for reading.
