Another chapter is submitted, I expect it will show on the website shortly. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy the story, as much as I have been enjoying reminiscing! While "Kathy" certainly was "the one that got away", I have to quote Garth Brooks, "Sometimes, God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers!" Had that particular prayer been answered with her continued presence, I would not have met and married The Darling Wife. As entertaining as my memories of yesteryear might be, gotta tell you, I'm in a better circumstance than I had anticipated, were you to meet me 10 years ago. So, Merry Christmas! Let's all spread the gift of being pleasant to one another, and thankful for the gifts we have received (for me, family, job, Darling Wife, being born in America, etcetera), every day of the year.
I have been trying to write, over the past several months. It's a challenge, sometimes, when you are working hours from home, and simultaneously attempting to line up full time employment for that time your present contract runs out.
I have been nibbling away at several stories, and "Kathy, Again" has had the most progress yet. I have 8 chapters, at this point, and suspect that I'll compete the tale in a total of 10-12 chapters.
I received several suggestions regarding how I might follow on to "Celebrating my Anniversary", and I'm around 2-3 chapters into that story.
There's a story, cited as inactive and incomplete, by Chemical Ollie (http://storiesonline.net/s/55611:73123). "Neighborly Swap" captured my imagination, and, when Mr. Ollie appeared to have moved on from the story, I contemplated how it might proceed from where he left it. So far, I've been unsuccessful in my attempts to discover a way to contact Mr. Ollie, to ask permission to carry on with my take on his story. At this point, I have six chapters total, including my rewrite of Chapter One, which presents my thoughts on how this story might have been set up. (Not better, simply different). Now, If Chemical Ollie happens to read this, please be clear: I'd love your permission to run with your story. Similarly, if you have objections, let me know, and let's figure out how I can avoid being a dolt.
And, for the rest of you, until I get myself sufficiently organized to present my perspective on a "Neighborly Swap", please, go and read the original. Thank you for reading this far. Merry Christmas!
I was daydreaming in the shower, and a recollection of this woman came to me. (No, not THAT way!) We spent one weekend together, during my senior year of high school, and then I returned to Michigan and she returned to Another State. We kept in touch, sporadically, for several months, but never met again. This story is not altogether true-to-life, but it is true to my state of, let us say, romantic experience at that time. I hope you enjoy it.
I hope folks have read Chapter Four of "Kathy Again". I hope you'all have enjoyed it. I'm working on (what is now) Chapter Eight. If you haven't read the first three chapters in a while, please feel encouraged to do so. Once you have read what I've posted, if you have any suggestions, any corrections, or other comments, please feel free to lay 'em on me.
I expect Chapter five will post in 2 or 3 days. Hope you find the delay, to have been worth it! Thanks for reading! /Reltney McFee.
I just submitted chapter 4 of "Kathy Again" for posting. I have another two chapters written, and in need of polishing, before I can submit them. Likely, there are another couple of chapters before this story is told.
On another note, I have two more stories in process. One is a continuation of "The Power of Word of Mouth Advertising" the other has a working title of "My 17th anniversary, book two"
IO hope you enjoy them!
