Just uploaded the first of 3 chapters of a story, imagining what "a day in the life" might look like, had Kathy and I made a life together. Not, of course, every single day, but an extraordinary day. Kinda like what might happen to any parents of a teenaged girl.
A memory of a girlfriend from my past, wouldn't let me be until I wrote it down. I tried for a flash story. Let me know how I did!
It is interesting how one site will rate a story at an aggregate of 9 +, while here on SOL the identical story scores 7.0, or 6.3. I understand that there are statistical adjustments, to allow for the fact that most folks will not vote at all for (against?) a story that they do not like, and folks who really enjoy a story tend to vote in a greater percentage of cases. I even agree with the underlying rationale, if I understand it properly. Even so, the score disparity does elicit a "Hmmmm?" in me, from time to time.
Either way, I want readers to comment. Thoughtful comments of praise, or criticism, are the only "pay" writers on this site receive, and they help me improve my writing.
Rant over. Carry on. (Reltney)
I just submitted Chapter 5 of "The Power of Word of Mouth Advertising". For the time being, that's the last. If you enjoyed the story, let me know. If you want more, let me know. If you have thoughts about where the story ought to go from here, let me...(you get the idea, right?).
I have another couple of stories in various states of incompletion, that I pek away at from time to time. My work life has been, to be understated, unsettled, recently, and that is distracting. (good thing NOBODY else has had THAT problem, right?). I find mysel with some time to invest in writing, from time to time, and so make glacial progress on the three stories that are at the top of my "projects" list.
I have been working out of town, and so have had little time for writing, and even less for posting. Chapter 4 has been submitted. I hope you all enjoy it. As always, comments are welcome!/Reltney
