Considering the large variety of religious beliefs and activities across the human race past and present, I'm expressing some rather non-traditional ones here. They are fiction as far as I know but might show up somewhere or another. Let me know if you find them.
An old journal written by a missionary in the Mid-Pacific reveals a very different and interesting island culture. He found a matriarchal (compassionate), polyandric, and pantheistic culture that had some better answers than he got from the Bible. That led to becoming an amateur sociologist. This writing is adapted from his 19th century journal.
Pagan priestess promotes insemination as a high sacrament to be administered joyfully and often. Spirituality and sex start with the same letter for a reason.
