John Oakley was your average Federal Marshal escorting a sadistic sociopath, Jess McFarland to trial for a new crime when he was ambushed, tortured, and left to die or not as the fates chose. He survived and became a bounty hunter. He was fired from his Federal Marshal job because of what his captors had done to his left knee and right hand. This is the story of John's three-year search for his tormenters. John's primary weapon became a shotgun firing "buck and ball." / (Reviews)

He takes care of that man and his two body guards, but has to run for Mexico to escape a Federal warrant for his arrest. Tom Olson is just an "innocent" boy who winds up being a terror to the bad guys. The dialog has dialect, but not the rest of the story.

There is nothing more ridiculous than a range war with cattlemen vs. sheepmen, at least, that's what Jason Boyd thinks. Unfortunately, he runs sheep and the local cattlemen have declared war. It's pretty much a standoff until Jason brings in the artillery. The only dialect is in some of the dialog, so the story should be easy to read.

Rather, it is the story of how a college student manages to survive and make his life better, as well as that of his friends. What would you do if you were plopped down in front of some very hostile Indians who were only interested in seeing what your insides looked like? Luckily, our hero was able to survive those first 15 or so minutes. Could you do as well? / (Reviews)
