A story in the Life with the Parkers Universe
This is the second story in the 'Life with the Parkers' series. The stories are all self-contained but are more meaningful if read in order. Fanny deals with her 'boys' similar to Frank dealing with his girls.

Alexander Nathaniel Wilson Hollister was thirteen years old, and his friends called him Alex. Every Saturday, Alex went to the mall with Matt and Alan to play video games. They took a break and went to the food court for lunch and girl-watching. Returning to the arcade, Alex was tackled by a man running through the mall. He was driven into a planter and knocked unconscious. Alex woke up in the hospital and found out he had been in a medically induced coma for a week.

This story stands alone, though it also fits into the Shiny-verse. It takes place twenty years before "The Shiny Ladies" (20BG), when our Kay was still a pre-pubescent girl named Katie Prisk. These events are what shaped Kay into the ball-breaking piece of work she became. The Epilogue takes place 8 years after "The Shiny Ladies" ends (10YG). Kay's past comes back for a visit.
