While traveling aimlessly, he meets a widow and her two children. They support each other allowing Ed to change his plan. Note: There were still 3,700 people missing on the 1st year aniversary of the disaster.

This is a coming of age story set in the early 1970s in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is more of a romance though it does get explicit at the end. The story is told from the young man's perspective.
