A story in the Karinaverse (Traveller) Universe
From the Karinaverse, involving a young Japanese woman named Opalaa (family name) Mijii (given name) who is a protege of Karina's in the Scout Service. It's based on an incident I read long ago that was purportedly true ~ maybe in a Hustler ~ about a man so aroused by a beautiful woman he met on a nude beach that he came just from looking at her, without even touching her or his penis. One imagines that the girl was flattered.
As far as he knew, Joe Granger was the only Terran being within lightyears, and he liked it that way. But one day at the market on Roku V, he saw something unexpected: another human. Stranger still, she was naked.
Returning from an assignment, Rae and her crew encounter an unusual swarm of asteroids traversing the galaxy. Witnessing the destruction of a solar system by the swarm, they decide to investigate and discover that the phenomena is not natural and may very well pose a threat to the thousands of inhabited planets that comprise the Galactic Consortium.
Progenitor A man is brought back from the dead by aliens, in order to spread the next stage of human evolution. In this section, the Progenitor appears on earth and seduces a girl from the beach.
