On the planet of New Berne, a mysterious pirate craft is robbing the passengers and cargo of Stratoliners with impunity. Lieutenants Jared Burkhalter of the Sky Police and Freya Sondergaard of the Planetary Marines are assigned to combat this menace and in doing so they encounter an even greater mystery.

Chris Piper's girlfriend had just announced she was dumping him. He might have welcomed the arrival of the Swarm just then, but then the Confederacy showed up instead. He was in the middle of a pick up and everything changed.
A boy returning home meets a girl on the tram. After they have sex a few boys from a gang try to take the girl and he defends her. When he wakes in the hospital he finds out the rest of the gang are after him.
