Heroes die young. Life goes on. The rest of us have to stand up and be counted. Sometimes keeping a promise costs more than you think it will.
Banded together from remote galaxies are thirteen of the most sinister villains of all time, the Legion of Doom, dedicated to a single objective: the conquest of the universe! This is the part when you’re gonna say, “Dragonpig, what does that have to do with anything?” And that is when I will say, “I don’t know.” I just remembered that cartoon show and I thought it was cool. It might be before a lot of you readers’ time, but I’m about to write a fanfiction using Batman, some DC characters.
Remember the kid that everyone hated back in school, that answered every question, that blew away the tests? Let's put the shoe on the other foot and inject some whimsy. (The physics and E.M. propagation in the story doesn't really work, but it's fun to think about.)
A Swarm Cycle Story
The inspiration for this short story was an 80's Country song by Dan Seals and a story by Thinking Horndog, the creator of The Swarm Cycle. If you have not read his story, 'Buying Wholesale', go ahead and do that and you will see where this story fits. It's just a vignette inside a larger canvas. This was never intended as a stand-alone story.
Mark had worked a long time to forget his family, his old life and women in general. On his first job all that would change, forever! Not only was he faced with a situation he had no control over but now he was forced to have a woman with him he didn't want, yet!
Anne looks like any other girl in school, but she has something nobody else has. It's actually three somethings and they have perhaps the foulest mouths. These three things are also her legacy or curse, depending on how one looks at it.
A man awakens inside a stasis pod with only scattered memories of who he once was, finding himself alone in a deserted offworld colony.
