What goes on behind closed (high security) doors, in the very best of houses, you just wouldn't believe!

The youngest labourer in the construction crew, Wayne, has organised a craic for his mates, Gaffer, Donkey and Bodge, a trip from rural West Ireland to the last day of the Cheltenham Festival. They are all doing a "Super Heinz", a way of betting on every combination of 7 races at a meeting, including trebles and accumulators. A great craic is on the cards, but does Wayne have something else in mind? A gentle, humorous road trip with added romance, nothing serious, just the craic.

The setting is a county town close to the Welsh border during the reign of the Norman King Henry I, youngest son of the Conqueror. William, the archer, has no family to sow his Welsh fields so travels late to the market towns of England to sell the Welsh longbows and fletched arrows he's fashioned throughout the long winter. He is forced to tread old ground where he hasn't plied his trade in for years, bringing back memories he has tried to forget. At a tourney he recognises an old longbow..

It's the anniversary of his marriage and he's mourning the loss of his beloved. Falling into a fitful sleep, she comes to visit him and they still manage to have a wonderful anniversary!

It's just a sappy love story that was supposed to be the introduction to another story. It has taken on a life of its own. The other story has a start but is currently stalled there while this one wends its way through my mind and fingers. Please note, no sex and little bad stuff. Like I wrote, it's sappy!
