This is a reimagining of an old story of mine from 2007 called A Beautiful Wish, which is still on this site. It includes a retooled setting with new supporting characters, villains, and love interests. I hope I can do my old work justice.

Tragedy struck Mark at a young age, leaving him with a heart full of unspoken words and a future shrouded in uncertainty. Raised by his aunt, he navigated the choppy waters of adolescence and eventually found a semblance of normalcy in a mundane, predictable routine. College, part-time job – even his social life, an endless cycle of bad dates and even worse pickup lines - It wasn’t exciting, but it was safe. Familiar. But fate, it seems, had other plans.

A story of relationships and learning to live and love as life and circumstances change. This story has been described as a BDSM romance novel. I wrote this story beginning in 1998 and finishing in 2002. I have made slight edits and corrections for SOL. ATTENTION: Chapter 22 ends with a scene that is not coded. Straight males may want to skim the last 10% or so of this chapter. Sorry, but it was a necessary part of the story.

A sixteen year old boy fleeing Child Protective Services in Missouri, helps a runaway girl about to be picked up by police at the bus station in OKC. They go on a motorcycle ride into the mountains of Arizona where the boy is drawn to a cave in a canyon hidden from the world. Here they find love, mystery, and danger!

A decade ago, a mysterious tower appeared between two apartment buildings on Central Park West in New York City. Its appearance touched off a series of debates and investigations as to how and where the tower came from. With the new building came a set of very odd features. Such as people with histories already living in the tower. Every storm that came through the area seemed attracted to it. Then there were the dead bodies. One hundred twenty-three so far.
