Amelia has always had a pilot fantasy, and she stays in airport hotels whenever she has the chance - always hoping. So far, she's had no luck. She doesn't realize that her fantasy is about to get upgraded to first class with double rewards.
This is the story of John Edwards, a fighter pilot in WW1, his combat experiences, and his romance with Connie Butler, a Red Cross worker. Most of the story involves a little-known, but very important, battle against the German observation balloons. John's favorite method of attack came from my imagination, but it could have worked and made a difference in the war. Every infantryman in WW1 had nothing but praise for the guts of the balloon busters.
