A Jacqueline de Belleville Story (2) Jacqueline recalls her adventures in early 1808 which lead her to cease her life as a ship's boy. Perhaps it's as well as she's 18 years old and only a blind man could fail to notice that she's a woman. In the course of her travels she helps desperate people, and rescues damsels in distress. But it comes at a high price to Jacqueline which even some much needed sexual relief can't recompense.
A story about a victim and a thief, a fireman and a nurse, a mother and a daughter, a dry blanket and wet clothes, cactus plants and strange beliefs, and about other things. Chapter 1 introduces the characters and the situation. Chapter 2 is actually a spoof about strange beliefs. Chapter 3 is about the final prickly situation.
