A long story about two people's lives, from age 5 to late-teens. It uses a series of self-contained incidents, in more or less chronological order, to demonstrate how the bond between them developed over time. Some of these incidents are of a mildly sexual nature, although there is only one, non-graphic reference to underage sex featuring one of the central characters.

Billy Wilder was a nerd's nerd. Back a far as he could remember, he had been the butt of every bully's basest urge, and now he was about to enter middle school where he could expect his problems to increase. This all changed for Billy when he found a magic wristband that had a resident genie attached. That was when Billy's life changed for the better. Now Billy excels at all sports and can be anything he wishes.

Nolan was the Special Security Officer aboard the HoChaRa Cosmic Armada Intruder Futile Gesture--but now he is a captive of the Paxlyn Domain.
