A Story in the Maggie May Universe
This is my submission to an invitation from Jake Rivers to write a story about the song Maggie Mae, or Maggie May. Hope you enjoy it.
I thought I'd put this up a long time ago, which is why I kept referring to it in Hilley Ascending (what can I say - I'm old - I drink - I forget things). It foreshadows who Hilley becomes. She is eight years old here, and traveling with her parents in Europe. The story itself is much shorter than usual. But you will meet a number of the characters who appear later in Hilley's life. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing it.
Eight years after being a student in her honors class, Alan Yeager runs into his old teacher at a conference. A change in perspective causes him to look at her in a much different light. / (Reviews)
