California Central Valley Summer Heat — a series by
Bondi Beach
Stories about my sister Samantha and me, and our friends, growing up in a small town in California's Central Valley. The core story is California Central Valley Summer Heat.
The core story is now nine chapters, edited and tightened to flow better. That's the one to read. There are name changes, and Buddy and Samantha are twins now, not older brother and younger sister. Why? Because I like the story better this way. Besides, it's pretty clear Samantha is Buddy's equal, or even maybe the team captain. She doesn't have to play the little sister any more.
There are two other posted stories in the series. "Jeremy" is a vignette about a visit Sam and I had with my cousin Jeremy. "Family Pool Party" takes place well into the future lives of Samantha and Buddy.
For the moment these are the only stories in the series.
Summer in California's Central Valley. A time to find out who you are and who you love. Sometimes, that person is right in front of you. A love story, an unexpected romance, a coming-of-age summer, and the slow unfolding of desire and fulfillment. In the words of one online reviewer: "Written in a lyrical lazy fashion much like the hazy summer days and evenings the author describes..." Heads up: there's a bit of mm, oral, in Chapter 8. You can skip the chapter and still follow the story.
My sister Sam and I and our spouses each have a kid. We all get together every Saturday for a swim, sun, and food. And wine. We've been doing it ever since the kids were just out of diapers. Things are different now. The kids are in high school and they've noticed what their parents, all four of them, are up to. Check my author blog for more info.
Sam and I visited my cousin Jeremy in Bakersfield that summer. I cannot for the life of me remember why we were there, but I remember the visit very well. You don't need to read any of the other stories in this series to enjoy this one, but if you do read them you'll know a little more about Sam and me and our friends. This visit took place before Sam and I had consummated our love.
