That fragment of a story was one of those things you do to get the juices flowing. It was in response to a writing prompt someone else threw out there and was never intended to be a full story.

Reader responses filled my inbox and almost every one said a variation of, "You aren't going to leave it at that, are you???"

I don't know. Really. I have no story line, that bit that exists today popped into my head when I read the prompt.

I don't want it said that I am completely unresponsive to my readers so... maybe? No promises, but I will play with it and see if it becomes something more.

I did as a reader suggested and downloaded my own story to read it. That really worked and, after a year of letting it languish, it is finally done.

I will never, ever, attempt a serial story again. If it is not done, I won't upload it. I have literally dozens of stories that are like this one, waiting for me to finish them. They will wait until I do!

I also have a bunch of stories (completed) that will need an editor but, since most folks probably think I am dead, I need to build (or rebuild) some relationships.

New story submission!

He was the sole survivor of a terrorist attack, his fiance was dead, he was grievously wounded and couldn't work. What's a fellow to do?

I have the next chapter of Empath with an editor now, and yet another excuse for my slow progress... this time a good one. I have a whole new story with another editor, 138K words.

Working on a few others as well, just wanted to let folks know I was not dead.

After my sabbatical, I have gotten a lot of inquiries about projects that had stalled so....

Union Trilogy, Book 3: In the works and, in fact, I am working on it right now. Okay, not RIGHT now, but today, and yesterday too.

Empath: I hit a pretty big block before I disappeared, but I am re-reading the story and getting inspired again. I will continue this, no worries. I promise not to let it die without a fight.

Reluctant Sir: This story arc is concluded. I don't have any plans to revisit them again.

Hadrian's Wall: I don't know if I will come back to this or not, but since I have other commitments (See above) and 30+ unfinished stories in the pipeline, if I do go back to visit Leo again, it will be further down the road.
