When I wrote and uploaded my first story here, the one that gave me my user name, The Reluctant Sir, the outpouring of response was great that what had been intended as a solo, required more.
So I wrote Marta's Tale, a companion piece that told the story from her point of view, and gave her backstory in the bargain.
I uploaded that as an additional chapter to The Reluctant Sir, but it has come to my attention that a lot of people never saw it!
Now that the third installment (again bowing to pressure from my awesome readers) is out, and people are getting mixed up.
If you haven't read Marta's Tale, go to the original story and look for the new chapter. I will get this all straightened out later, I promise.
Many, Many requests to revisit this one.
The Reluctant Sir, the companion piece Marta's Tale, and now this final chapter, Becoming.
Joe and Marta have found love, and in doing so, saved each other. So what is next?
The story is being uploaded now, so go and find out!
Don't you hate writers who just disappear, leaving stories unfinished? Yeah, me too. Then I became one.
I let life take me away for a while so for all the folks who were waiting on updates, sorry!
I have been writing, in what little free time I had, and will be posting more soon-ish.
Ok, this is not real moonshine, but if you have real moonshine, this will make it less paint-peeler and more palatable.
Seriously, this stuff rocks.
PEACH
Ingredients:
½ gallon (64 oz.) Welchs White Grape Peach Juice
1 ½ cups White Sugar
1 can Sliced Peaches (15-16 oz.)
3 Cinnamon Sticks
½ cup ( 4oz.) Peach Schnapps
Bring this to a boil, then let it simmer covered for about an hour. Let it cool down to room temperature then add the following:
1 1/2 cup (8-9 oz.) 190 proof Grain Alcohol, Everclear, Graves, etc.----I use Everclear only)
½ cup (4 oz.) Peach Schnapps
Pour into Mason Jars, and store in cool dark place. How you package is entirely up to you. I personally enjoy the peaches so I place them, as well as a cinnamon stick in each jar.
If you can get your hands on real Moonshine instead of Everclear, the recipe is the same. And you can add more Everclear to make it stronger if you want.
APPLE
Ingredients
16 oz. Apple Cider
16 oz. Apple Juice
2 Tablespoons Sugar (I prefer the raw sugar vs. white sugar for the flavor but you can use either)
2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
2 Cinnamon Sticks
8 oz. Everclear/grain alcohol
3 oz. Buttershots (Butterscotch Schnapps)
1 1/2 oz. Hot Damn (Cinnamon Schnapps, available in 30 or 110 proof)
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1. Put the Apple Cider, Apple Juice, Sugar and Cinnamon Sticks in a pot and bring to a boil.
2. Lower heat and let simmer until the cinnamon sticks start to open up.
3. Remove from heat and let it cool down to room temperature.
4. Stir in your alcohol and vanilla extract. Start with the above amounts of alcohol and adjust to taste and preference.
5. Bottle and enjoy.
I had originally planned on posting two chapters a week of this story until it was complete, but with the holiday here and people taking vacation, I decided... the hell with it.
I have uploaded the entire story, all remaining chapters, to say thanks to the readers who have made my time here so enjoyable.
I hope you enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed writing it for you.
