Not being a professional writer of fiction, I don't have my stories mapped out ahead of time, so when I introduced Tommy and Mimi into Community 3 i didn't know where I was going. I was thinking 'vignette'.
Wrong.
They took on a life of their own. Worth another story.
Accordingly, I have peeled out the last two chapters of Community 3 and retitled them for our protagonist, Tommy, and reposted them. They will soon be followed by Chapter 3, which is at the editor's as we speak.
If you've been following the story so far, the first two chapters are essentially identical to previous postings in <Community 3.
If you haven't been reading, then this is little bit of a nice guy trying to be a nice guy, with a girl who's taken a wrong path, but wants out.
Enjoy.
Just submitted a chapter of Lena for posting.
Yes, I know - out of sequence.
Well, friends, it's been a bad week, right up to the point that I got a bit of food poisoning from a bad crouton somewhere. The Lena chapter was ready, so here it is. I hope to resume a more regular schedule of posting, that is, of course, contingent on Dorable's dimpled butt showing up to help.
Just like the old song...
Lots of work issues and domestic issues have kept the muse a bit nervous and flighty, and the chapter of Lena that I posted today is two weeks old because it got lost between me and my editor, but here it is, and with a little respite from external distractions I should resume a more satisfactory posting schedule.
Satisfactory? Darned straight. I write these things because **I** want to see what happens next, too, you know.
As always, encouraging letters are helpful. And don't forget, if you want to hit my old email, you can do oyster1950@gmail.com.
I appear to have survived Tropical Storm Cindy.
Yawnnnnn! We MIGHT have gotten a wind gust or two that broke forty miles an hour. According to the weather map, we've gotten 0.36″ of rain. The power stayed on all night.
The local TV station has been full apocalypse over this, having an opportunity to step away from their reporting of new flowerbeds at taxpayer expense.
The reality is that the weather has been the equivalent of a mediocre winter storm, nothing more.
To the readers who emailed and messaged me about my status, thank you for your concern. I appreciate it.
It is with some humor that I note that Tropical Storm Cindy is slated to wander ashore in the wee hours of Thursday morning just a few miles east of here.
Fear not I've sat in THIS exact location when Hurricane Ike took a similar path and we had 80+ MPH winds here.
