Finally finished.
This has been a slightly vexing chapter in that the plot requires it in order for the following chapters to make sense, otherwise Simon's changed values and new motivations are too much of a switch from his previously stated positions.
Hence the delay in getting it out.
It might get reviewed in the future, but, for now, it's as done a deal as it will get.
Now, time to get the cleaners in for the next chapter...
The next installment, and a slight change of pace for this chapter, sees me doing the final edit to it today.
So, Test Match Special on the radio, a generous box of snuff on my desk, and copious distractions from my puppies no doubt going to takeplace, it should be in the submission queue later today.
UPDATE: After getting into the opening section, it seems as though there is more work needed than I remembered after I finished the second draft a couple of weeks back. Posting now likely to be as late as Tuesday next.

Spent a thoroughly enjoyable few days reading myself back into the series, spotting a few goofs, and taking notes of things I've foreshadowed or precluded.
Last night, lots of trouble getting to sleep as various of the characters danced around my mind's eye, giving me ideas for stories, some of them very out of the blue.
Part of the conseqence of all of this is that, aAfter Simon spends an afternoon in Vernon's company and Jemma gets her first proper lesson, cleaners will feature oddly prominently in his life...
