Should I go non-erotic?

Posted at

As the title denotes, I am thinking about redoing my stories to be non-erotic. It's an idea I've been kicking around in my head for some time now. I honestly think that I should do this, but I would like to hear from those who read my stories.

I know it's a big change, but the stories as they are, and the plotlines, would remain the same. Sure, the naughty bits would be gone, but there would still be some innuendo and insinuation about what's going on.

I know that I may lose some fans and the like for this, but it's a direction that I feel I should go. I hope that everyone understands this and that you still read and enjoy the stories I write. Cheers!

Attention, clarification: Wings of Fire is in stasis

Thought I'd address this matter, as I have recieved a fair number of messages, asking for Wings of Fire to be picked up again. Allow me to clarify things for those who don't know; I will pick up this story, just not at this time.

As it stands, I am working on three stories simultaneously, writing a double chapter for both Gaia's Champion and Project Prometheus each month. On top of which, I am also writing my post apocalyptic story, Tales of the Wastelander, the first chapter of which, will be made available for public reading later this year.

Every chapter I write is around 12500-15000 words per chapter. Given that I'm writing no less than 5 chapters a month, that's an average of 62500-75000 words a month. Tacking Wings of Fire onto that roster, which would also be a double chapter of work, would increase the word count to between 87500-105000 words per month.

I'm not saying that I won't do it, but with the time constraints that I currently have, being a working writer with a regular day job, I lack enough time to do the stories proper justice. The one thing I will never do, is crank out a piece of literary trash, that is not up to my standard of writing.

So, I will get to Wings of Fire, just not right now. Once I have achieved a certain level of support from my biggest fans, then I will pick it up, as hitting that support level from my patrons will allow me to book some time off work to focus solely on writing. Until then, Wings of Fire will stay in stasis. Thank you for listening and cheers!

New changes!

Posted at Updated:

Greetings my dear fans and followers! I hope everyone is doing well and I have some news for everyone to hear! Rest assured, this is the good kind, which will also be accompanied by several changes, which I'm certain many will appreciate! So, let's get down to brass tacks!

After some trial and error, and some serious thinking, I have decided to scrap the Writer's Gambit entirely and change up the way I post my stories. What's going to happen is simple; I will no longer just focus on one story to write at any given time. I will instead focus on all three of them, so everyone here gets the stories they want each month!

Some of you might be worried that I might be taking on too much and risk burning myself out. On that note, you have nothing to fear, as I have already tried this method out and I can not only manage it, but do it well! I also make sure to take enough down time to rest and recharge my batteries, so I can keep creating and not lose my ish.

I have also decided to change up the way I post two of my stories, specifically Project Prometheus and Tales of the Wastelander. With Project Prometheus, I realized that I'm practically giving the story away, which is something that is changing immediately. From now on, I will be writing double chapters of this story, always keeping one chapter reserved for my supporters, until I've hit a proper ratio of 66% free and 33% paid for, as I believe that my supporters deserve something more.

With Tales of the Wastelander, I have decided to open that story up, but only one chapter in ten, will be made available for public reading. Because it's a story that I've crafted for my supporters, it will, for the most part, remain a story for them. Considering that there are only 2 chapters available and how I plan on doing one chapter a month, it will be a while before that happens.

So, as it stands, I will, for the foreseeable future be posting no less than 5 story chapters per month, 2 of which will only be available here! Also, if anyone has questions that they wish to ask about my stories, go ahead and ask them! If there's one thing I love to do, it's interacting and talking to my fans!

I realize that not everyone will like these changes, but change is how you grow, how you move forward and become better than you were. With all of that said, I will start work on the first story grouping right after Project Prometheus Ch. 17 drops. I do hope that everyone appreciates these new changes and I look forward to getting new content ready for release in December. Hopefully, it will be released early next month, provided real life cooperates. Happy reading everyone and cheers!

Never enough time.

Pardon me for the rant, but I feel that I need to address a few fans who've been chomping at the bit regarding new story chapters for Wings of Fire.

As far as this story goes, I would really like to write more of it, I really would! It hits a niche that hasn't really been delved into and I would love to explore more of it! The only problem is, that my more popular stories, Project Prometheus and Gaia's Champion, along with my exclusive story, Tales of the Wastelander, occupy all of my free writing time.

Because I have a full time day job, on top of a family, writing more stories is something I want to do, but don't have the time for. Unlike some of the more popular writers, such as Tefler, Etaski among others, I don't have legions of supporters willing to help me become a full time writer. I have gathered some support, but at the rate things are going, it'll be years, maybe even a decade, before I see enough support to walk away from my day job.

Writing full time is my dream, but you often have to temper dreams with reality. And the reality of this situation is that I simply lack the time to give you the story you want. As much I would love to write it, I have too much to do and not enough time to write all my ideas out. I hope you can understand my situation and position on this. Cheers.

I know that this one took a while to crank out. Loads of things are still bouncing about here at home and at work, which has me stretched a bit thin. Don't worry, I am holding everything together and will continue to do so! Crossing my fingers that things continue to climb as they have, so I can do and write more for you, my fans and readers!

The plot thickens as new things, new people, new information and new arcs now come to light! Feel free to guess what's going to happen and what may or may not happen, but remember the hidden things in the background, like Bad Wolf! ;)

On a bit of a news based note, I will keep writing this story, even as I bring focus back to my other stories! Worry not, as I have figured out a way to write them all without compromising quality, or driving myself to exhaustion. It's become much bigger than I had anticipated I can see a massive universe of stories coming out of this! How massive? Think of all your favorite fandoms brought into a single universe! :D

Anyway, for those who have, thank you for taking the time to read my work and I do hope that you've enjoyed it! I'm open to constructive criticism and will seriously consider any suggestions made about various story arcs. Please rate and comment on my work down below and ask me questions if you wish, as I love hearing from my fans! If you like what I write, don't be afraid to follow and share, though your views, ratings and comments are quite enough for me.

In the meantime, this is C.H. Darkstrider, signing off to grab a beer and some quality time with the wife! ;) You will attain whatever you most desire, as long as you believe in yourself. Cheers!
