Well, the past week has been full of excitement and humility for me. I managed to get part one of my story posted, received a bunch of great comments and well wishes, and realized just how easy it is to miss mistakes and errors in something written. When you read or hear "let as many people proofread your work as possible" listen to that advice! On that note, I've gotten proofreading help for the parts to follow. I've also gone back and edited part one to correct the text a bit. No plot changes were made but many small errors in grammar and punctuation were fixed. Those corrected chapters will be up later today.

I've already learned a lot, both in the basics of writing and in how readers interpret my attempts to tell a story. Hopefully, this will lead to improvements down the road. Part two is coming... soon!

I'm making my introduction after posting the start of my first story recently. I've been reading stories on this site for years and have been in awe of the great writers and imaginative stories they have created. As I mentioned in my story's end notes, I've lived with my story in my head for decades... always wondering if I'd have the talent and imagination to properly build and share it with others.

A few months ago, with extra time on my hands due to the pandemic, I decided to just start writing it down. After all, how hard could it be? Well, it is incredibly hard... and rewarding... and fun! I am even more in awe at the many authors out there who can consistently put out good engaging stories in a well edited form.

Saturday, I was brave enough to post the starting chapters to my story. Oh, the nervousness that went along with clicking 'submit'. Will anyone read it and, if they do, will they like it? I had to ask myself what level of acceptance would be required for me to continue? I am happy to see that so far, the story seems to be well received. Thank you for that and for giving it a shot and thank you for your comments and messages!

Chapter three dropped this morning and the next two chapters in this introductory first part will be released every other day to finish it out. The story is written up to part four so far and I'll soon have updates on when more will be released.
