Even faster? Well...

Posted at Updated:

Happy October fellow readers!

I've gotten more mail asking if there is any way to get more of my story faster, even if they had to pay. I looked into Bookapy and what it would take to compile and publish my story in a book form. I've also finished the editing and proof reading of part three to get it ready for such publishing.

Last night I finished those tasks and published book one. It is up for sale today. The first book contains parts one, two and three and ends up at 114,000 words which is well over the 100k which I consider decent novel size. Parts one and most of part two have already posted here. Part three "Turnabout" comes in at 47k words and is a complete new adventure for John and contains a few surprises.

If you are loving the story and don't want to wait a few months to see parts two and three posted here, then there is your alternative. Or, if you love the story and want to reward the author for his labor of love, there you go. But, I'm fine if you would rather do neither and just wait a bit and read the story here. It's all good.

Part two will finish in a bit over a week. I will start posting part three in November and that should carry us into the new year. Book two will start with part four and that will be sometime next year probably in the spring. Thank you so much for your kind words of support.

Chapter 10 of my Make the Cut series is in the queue for Thursday morning instead of the following Sunday. Why so early? It's because I am a pussy and have caved to the plea's of a few of my more vocal readers. When they informed me of the general suffering in the world due to Covid and the upcoming US elections, and how the slow release of chapters would be compounding the suffering, I realized it would indeed be cruel to continue the slow and steady pace I had planned.

So, in the interest of humanity, I will be bumping up the chapter trickle to an absolute flood! of two a week instead of one. And, for those of you who would say "Don't negotiate with terrorists." be reassured that the gluttons may have to go on a diet when the food runs out and more needs to be made. We'll see.

Regardless, expect a bit more of the story over the next two weeks at least. The end of September and beginning of October are celebration times in the C...B household and this extends to my readers.

Cheers and have a good fall. Best times of the year.

Meanwhile...

Over the course of editing part two of "Make the cut", I fixed a continuity error. Then, over the next week or two I kept remembering the cause of that error and a new story began to form in my head based upon that event. Today, I posted this stand-alone short story. It exists in the same world as my main story "Make the cut" but is not required reading if you are only following that one. This new story is very dark but not too graphic. Mind the story tags.
** update on Shelter. I reposted it last night after discovering too many errors to let it be. I rushed it out and I apologize. The current version is much better and is a bit more polished. **

Progress on the main story continues. Part two - chapter nine will drop Sunday. The rest of the part two chapters are done with final editing and I may offer a bonus chapter or two during October. Part three will be getting a third and fourth last look over in the next few weeks. Part four hit forty thousand words last night and is probably over the half way hump.

I wish you all the best.

Chapter 7 of Make the Cut is in the queue and scheduled for Sunday morning.

Sunday morning will be the typical new release day for this series moving forward. I may reconsider the schedule as the rest of the story continues to come together.

The progress has been good on the series. Part two - Solitude has been fully edited and is complete.

Part three has had two complete editing and proofreading passes and is looking pretty good.

Part four is in progress and moving along nicely.

Thanks for your comments and feedback. Both are greatly appreciated.

Part two news.

As promised here is an update on when part two will be released. I had been trying to decide when to begin posting the next part, wondering if I should do it Saturday morning or Sunday. Then, I asked myself what would the reader want and I remembered what I wanted when waiting on a next installment. NOW! I want it now!. So, its in the queue.

I hope you enjoy the continuing tale of John and his new world.

I plan on posting a chapter a week in the future.
