It's time to start posting a new story, and I have chosen a time travel story I called "Time-Walking." Here is the blurb:

"Two anthropology graduate students accidentally trip a portal through time and wind up in ancient Egypt. Something about the portal does allow them to speak the local language. However, they still have to survive there without being killed as dangerous foreigners and have to find a way to make a living. Becoming Nanny to the pharaoh's favorite son was a good start. The male half of the duo worked as a bodyguard."

I hope that stirs up a little interest in the story. If it is attractive enough, I'll turn it into a series.

I got about 40 comments on my request for advice on the amount of sex to include in my stories. The consensus was that a story should have the amount of sex that is appropriate for the story. That may sound like a silly result to some people, but what it means is that I should not jam sex into a story just to meet some preconceived idea of how much sex there should be in an SOL story.

As it happens, that is what I believe, and I will try to live up to that standard. In other words, some of my stories will have no sex, some will have mostly sex, and some will fall somewhere in between.

One respondent said that he would not read a story that was not heavy with sex, and I respect his stand, but it does mean that he will not read very many of my stories. Oh, well ...

This is just a note to thank the readers for making "Man, That Was Some Rabbit Hole" the top serial for downloads. I am humbled and flattered that so many people like the story. Thank you.

Can somebody tell me the value of having scores. Sometimes I leave them switched on and sometimes I don't. I already know that my score will run from 6.0-7.5, depending on how much of a fudge factor Lazeez uses that day. That is totally regardless of how many 8s, 9s, and 10s I have. At the moment, I have more 10s than anything else, and I find that gratifying. My scores of 7 and over vastly outnumber anything below 7, yet my score was 7.03 the last time I looked. Even if all of the 10s are dropped, how can my average really be that low?

The upshot is that I am going to turn off my scoring for now, unless I forget. Oh, by the way, I now have three 1s since I posted my troll comment. I must have caused him to make a couple of calls to buddies who normally don't vote. LOL

Of course, if I am wrong about my attribution of the last two 1s, I would like to know.

By the way, I had one reader write that he was abandoning "Man, That Was Some Rabbit Hole" because of the "swinging" in chapter 2 that I had failed to tag. That floored me because ALL primitive or isolated groups of humans do that sort of thing as a matter of course. Personally, I don't consider it swinging if it is a cultural norm. Also, that is the only place in the story where it happens. Oh, well ...

Ah, yes, all is right with the world. I was beginning to wonder what I had done to drive him off. But now I feel loved again. My own personal TROLL has returned to cast his single vote of 1 for "Man, That was some Rabbit Hole." I have come to realize that there is some kind of love associated with the fact of tracking down every one of my stories just to cast that singular vote. I have begun to feel "dissed" if I don't see that singular vote. I don't care if someone else thinks that one of my stories deserves a vote of 1, but I always wonder if my troll is sick or on vacation when he neglects me. Now I can relax and return to a normal life. LOL
