Chapter 58 of Best Summer Ever has been posted. Gary and Arlene embark on their Malibu adventure. Arlene figures out what Gary was up to the night before and is less than pleased. Gary receives a less than warm welcome to the world of modeling.

Readership raced past 288K downloads. The score made another big leap to 8.15 before slipping back a notch. I've picked up something like 15 new followers and have passed 520.

It's almost like readers are going out and telling people about my little story. Kinda makes a fellow feel all warm and fuzzy.

Chapter 57 of Best Summer Ever has been posted. Gary has a busy day getting ready for his trip to California. Oh, yeah, he goes on a date with Jan Metzger. Will she really be all that safe in her own bed?

Downloads have blown by 281K and are already approaching 282K. The score rocketed up to 8.11 with a chapter where our hero only got to second base. It gained more in one day than it has in some weeks since I started this. We've picked up nine more followers and moved past the 500 mark there. It's almost like there was nothing else posted yesterday.

Chapter 82 is in the can, but I really do need to take a break and get some other things done. I've written more than 235K words, about 162K of which have been posted on SOL. Being 25 chapters ahead should be enough of a cushion that I can afford to skip a day.

Chapter 56 of Best Summer Ever has been posted. Gary faces another inquisitor at lunch and is allowed to go on his date with Bethany, but not before getting himself in a little deeper. Can our hero get through the evening and maintain his virtue?

Readership has blown past 276K with more than 1,600 in the first two hours since the new chapter was posted. The score has bumped up to 8.06 already this morning. I'm pushing 500 followers and gained three new patrons on Patreon, moving past 40 there.

Chapter 81 took some work, but is in the can. I may have to take a day to deal with real-life issues. I've got a stack of paperwork that isn't going to do itself. I need to get a secretary or executive assistant to help me out.

Chapter 55 of Best Summer Ever has ben posted. Gary meets with Staci Patterson's dad. That's it.

I get the feeling George Patterson enjoys toying with boys his daughter wants to date. It's such a nice diversion from picking the next governor or senator.

Readership passed 269K, nearly a thousand of which has come in the hour since the update was posted. Why do I envision so many guys eating their morning cereal in front of their computer. Or do they have their tablets/phones at the breakfast table?

The score reached 8.05 before sliding back to 8.04. It's interesting watching how scores fluctuate based on just a few votes.

Chapter 80 is in the can, but real life is making demands. I'll just have to see if I can get any writing done today.

Chapter 54 of Best Summer Ever Has been posted. Gary survives the Father's Day brunch, but will he survive a talk with Mrs. Ensberry? The news pretty much ruins Kacie's day, as well. Gary and Kacie console each other.

For some reason, the Father's Day gift scene gets to me every time I read it. It's fake. I know it's fake. Hell, I'm the one who made it up. And it still makes me a little misty.

The story has blown past 262K downloads and is already almost to 263K. The score went back up a tick and has held. I've picked up a few more followers.

Chapter 79 is in the can and I've got a good start on 80, but real life is weighing in. I may have to spend more time on it than I do writing. We'll just have to see how things go.
