Chapter 71 of Best Summer Ever has been posted. Gary survives the final day of the photo shoot, but gets shanghaied by Marie and busted by Julia. He eventually returns to his life at the country club, helping get ready for the Fourth of July and lifting weights. He makes it through a hectic day at work, then gets suckered by another Metzger woman.

Chapter 70 of Best Summer Ever has been posted. Gary's efforts to welcome Morgan back home meet with some resistance. Then Morgan meets with personal tragedy, further delaying their reunion. That's followed by a date with Staci, but things strangely feel like another one of George Patterson's tests. Fortunately, Arlene is yet again in position to save the day. What would our hero do without his redheaded goddess?

Chapter 88 is finally in the can. It was difficult to get it headed in the right direction for some reason, but I'm pleased with the result.

Chapter 69 of Best Summer Ever has been posted. Gary doesn't disappoint Arlene. He still has enough energy to get through a few days of modeling. Then he gets to serve as a reward for someone else.

I'm finally getting into the meat of Chapter 88. I can't claim writer's block, more like trying to make the pieces fit in a way that moves the story toward its intended conclusion. Sometimes, these characters seem to have a different agenda than I do. I'm trying to gently guide things along instead of forcing them into situations.
