The new chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.

The final installment of the Maureen story opens with her having a couple of enjoyable weeks at the cabin.

On the morning of 7 May, Allen is attacked by something that steals his Talent. Maureen can't detect what is happening and panics when he warns her away. She transfers to the Hardtrick farm for help.

Max transfers to the cabin with her but Allen is gone without a trace. Later Angus comes with them to check if Black Magic was used. A spell reveals that a powerful Black Magic spell was used against Allen. Maureen also reveals that she is pregnant.

The next morning, Jill takes Maureen to see an OB/GYN doctor in Charleston. The doctor is shocked that Maureen is four months pregnant. So is a very upset Maureen, who can't believe her. The Leader of the Magic Council appears in the doctor's office with a prediction.

Allen also relates the details of his capture to end the first chapter.

The final chapter opens with Maureen's second visit to the OB/GYN, who reveals that she is eight months pregnant. At the hospital on the 12th of June, Maureen's twins, in a spectacular use of Magic, appear by themselves, rather than in the normal way.

In just two week they are two years old and continue to age a year in a week. Later the twins inform her that they have visited Allen. They won't take her to see him as it is a trap. Later they study many books.

On the 25th of September the twins are 15 years old. They are ready to release Allen and will take Maureen with them. The twins explain things and then remove the objects keeping Allen a prisoner. They also remove the Black Magic spell hiding his Talent. On restarting time, there are a number of explosions through out the prison.

Later the Members of the Magic Council appear with questions. The twins have the answers and eventually go with the Leader of the Magic Council to remove the blanket spell restricting the amount of Magic available in their reality.

Those on the Magic Council are anxious to return to their own reality, and tell Maureen and Allen to form a New Magic Council to control those using Magic in their reality. The twins have many plans for those opposed to the spread of Magic.

In the Postscript, we learn how things went over the next ten years.

I hope that you have enjoyed Maureen. I have several other stories in progress, although work on them has been slowed by my several hospital stays in recent weeks. They will appear when they are ready and edited.

This week's chapters open with Allen and Maureen locating the correct house and removing the license plates and the transponder from the Witch's car.

That evening the Leader of the Magic Council appears in their hotel room and advises them to leave Boston. He also informs Maureen that she is pregnant. They leave the next morning and reach Hagerstown, MD that evening.

That evening back in Boston, the freeze spell and wards on the Wizards expire. The Frenchman is very upset and threatens to leave. The American Wizards tell Agent Drum about the Black Magic book.

On Thursday, Allen and Maureen reach the Duffield's farm. Maureen repairs Sam's large tractor with a spell. They are busy the remainder of the day getting the cabin set up, and moving things from Maureen's storage site and from Angus' house. They explain things to Angus, and Maureen leaves the Black Magic book with him.

At the cabin, Maureen has supper prepared when three young cats appear. They take them in as pets.

On Thursday morning in Boston, AIC Drum contacts his boss, Director Stone, about the Wizards. Stone tells him to locate Parks and O'Farrell, but to only watch them. He offers no additional help. Drum directs the Witch Teams to help locate them. They aren't happy. The Wizards are also added to the search, but run into trouble with the Witches.

Enjoy these two chapters. Next week the final chapters will reveal the conclusion of the story.

My thanks to all of those who remembered me while I was in the hospital.

I survived

Yes, I survived the operation and the recovery in the hospital. The hospital was very boring. Nothing to do by read and sleep, which was fine for the first two days after the operation. After that, there wasn't anything else to do but a bit of walking in the halls, and being woken up every couple of hour so they could check your condition. It made for long days.

Need to take it easy for the next few weeks or so, but at least I'm home with more to do. I will be posting chapters 13 & 14 of Maureen on Friday at my regular time.

My thanks to all of those who remembered me in their prayers, as I am sure that it helped with the operation and the stay in the hospital, as I had little trouble.

Maureen, chapters 11 & 12

The new chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.

This week's chapters open with Maureen and Allen questioning the Wizards before confining them to their rooms for 72 hours. On Monday they begin looking for a new place to stay in the Boston area, but they quickly determine that it is too expensive, before considering other areas.

Monday for those in the Boston FBI wasn't a good day. A lot of time and energy were expended trying to reach the Wizards. Tuesday is even worse, as they are invaded by a group of Paranormal protestors looking for free face time with the media.

Early on Tuesday, Maureen and Allen transfer to the Hardtrick farm to inquire about places to stay. Following explaining everything, Max has a suggestion of where they could stay.

On transferring to the Duffield farm, Sam has a cabin they can rent, and they will drive Allen's car there. Later back at the hotel in Boston, they discover the problem with driving the best route means they need to travel on the Massachesett's Turnpike - a toll road. Also for a distance on the New York Thruway - another toll road. They need a license plate and a transponder that is not registered to them to do that. How to get one is the problem.

Maureen soon realizes where they can get what they need and that it wouldn't be missed or reported as stolen. Allen eventually realizes that he knows the address and where it is.

Enjoy these two chapters.

Unfortunately, there will be another interruption to posting chapters of this story. In a few days I go into the hospital for colon surgery, having been diagnosed with colon cancer. I expect to spend most of a week in the hospital. The recovery time from this is four to five weeks, I have been told, but don't know how I will be feeling during this time.

My Senior Editor is having health problems also, so I am down to one editor, who is doing his best. The writing of the story is finished, and the editing is close to being finished. I will post the next two chapters as soon as I am able, but it will have to be after I am out of the hospital. Your understanding in this matter is appreciated.

The new chapters have been sent to the Moderators for posting.

This week's chapters open with Allen board at work. Maureen still has him working on his visualization and transferring.

Monday afternoon there is a meeting in the Boston AIC's office where the plot to investigate Parks is revealed. Additionally, there is talk about securing the building against Paranormal attack.

On Thursday, three government Wizards arrive at the FBI building causing trouble for Parks as well as themselves.

Later after Maureen finds Parks and they have lunch. They visit Southie for the afternoon. That evening they return to the hotel and transfer their belongings to her secure storage location.

Returning from the storage site, they check on Allen's car and find agents waiting to capture them. Maureen casts a spell putting everyone in the FBI building to sleep before they inspect the car. Following tht removal of mechanical obstacles, Maureen transfers them and the car out of the parking lot to drive away.

The next morning, after returning to Chelsea, they stakeout the FBI building from across the street to learn more about the Wizards.

The previous night, things at the FBI building were very confused when those there discovered that they had been asleep for an hour or more. The Wizards didn't learn what had happened until in the morning.

Later that morning, Maureen and Allen follow the Wizards to where they are staying. Allen uses his badge to learn what rooms they are in.

That evening, Maureen decides to wait until Sunday night to confine the Wizards to their rooms as that will have the most effect. Later after freezing the two American Wizards in their room with a spell, they await the third one in his room. He finally returns and Maureen freezes him also. Shortly she is ready to question him using the truth spell.

Enjoy these chapters. More next week.

Keep Well,
uncle jim
