I've posted Chapter 70 this mornin and I'm continuing to write. I'm hoping to finish Chapter 71 this morning and then get it off to my editors. At this moment I can't promise that it will be ready for Friday. Please be patient. Thanks.
It's amazing. You don't post for a week and people think you died. Well I haven't. I am feeling better now and I'm back to writing. I've just sent Chapter 70 off to the first of my editors. I won't promise anything before Wednesday, so I will ask that you remain patient. I will also reiterate that this story is coming to an end soon. There may be only a chapter or two left before I wrap the story up. Finally I'd like to say thank-you to everyone who sent me their wishes for my good health. It was appreciated.
First off I'd like to apologize to all my readers. I know I've always tried to be ahead of the ball when posting chapters, sometimes having up to six chapters completed and in the can, so to speak, so if something comes up I can make certain that my posting schedule doesn't lapse, but regrettably I haven't been writing lately, and when I have, I've been rewriting what I have written. The main reason is that I've been under the weather for the last week and a half. It's nothing serious, but it has left me lethargic, and the wonderful over the counter meds have left me in a bit of a haze. What this means is there will be no Chapter 70 come Monday morning. I have written it, and rewritten it, and as of this morning I'm thinking of rewriting it again. I hope you can bear with me, and I also hope that I can get back into the groove soon. Jake's story is almost over (even though many would wish otherwise) and I hadn't intended to interrupt the tale at this point, but the fact is that even if I could pump out a chapter today, it would still take time for my editors to clean up my typos and poor grammar. All I can say is that I'm sorry this happened and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. Take care.
Just reposted Chapter 62 with a minor fix. As one reader indicated to me, I'd renamed Jefferson to Jackson. That has now been fixed.
I've also provided some clarification to a question another reader asked about why Ferguson had tried to signal the helicopter to land. That paragraph adds weight to Jake's actions at the end of the chapter.
Thanks for reading, and especial thanks for feedback. It is appreciated.
Just a brief note to my readers in regards to the next chapter in the Gateway: What Lies Beyond story. The chapter will include content dealing with remembrance. Jake and the Bear Tribe lost three young men fighting to take Winslow's base and Jake will finally lay those young men to rest. If such scenes upset you I would advice you to skip that portion of the chapter. Tnaks,
