First off, thank you for those who have commented or messaged me about Resume. I genuinely appreciate it. Some of the recommendations have already been written, just not posted yet. Others though I'm keeping in mind but might not use. My character is a real person put into this situation. Sure, he planned ahead and got some things setup, but he also didn't really expect it to happen. Additionally, he didn't necessarily have the time/money to have gotten to his ideal prepper status. The last factor: if the hero is too well prepared for his new reality there's not enough to really challenge him. I think my plan has got a decent balance of challenge level yet still "winnable" with a couple others things in mind. Lastly, I'm still adding things and better forming an outline for what's coming with the story. I figure that's a better idea than not having a real plan.

So an uneventful 4 day weekend gives you folks the benefit of an early chapter. Chapter 5 has been submitted to the posting queue and chapter 9 has had it's initial draft done. The next couple chapters will be comparatively slow with some more action kicking up in chapter 8. Going forward from that there should be more, but like any story it's going to have lulls for setup or getting from point A/situation A to point B
I've added the next chapter to my Resume story. Things have started slow, but there's finally some action in this and characters that aren't just our intrepid hero.
FYI: I've had some very good recommendations and feedback in comments or messages. Some will ne incorporated and some won't. My hero may have good ideas on what to stock up on and what to do but he's not perfect. Plus, I look at it as if he planned too well and equipped himself too well the challenge wouldn't be as much. He also wasn't a fully dedicated prepper (though on his way, just basically ran out of time) he also didn't really think the end of the world would actually come. So yes, he's not perfect and has faults. But he also learns from his challenges.
Bad news: I've been too busy to have written out another amusing Army Life story. Good news: at least part of that is because I'm still busy on "Resume". Chapter 7 is in progress and chapter 3 is getting submitted to the queue as soon as I send this off. So far I still think updates every 2 weeks is a good idea, as it let's me keep the writing moving forward. Things are still slow with chapter 3, but it gives a flashback and insight into at least some of why the main character has been the loner you see at the beginning. Action starts in chapter 4. I'm debating whether I should go some erotica with it, but know that if I do, it will never become the focal point of the story. Feel free to provide input on whether you think I should stay with nonsexual or go to some sex.

I've submitted chapter 2 into the posting queue. I also plan on submitting another short for the Military Life series today as well, so hopefully that gives you things to look forward to (or to have enjoyed if you're reading this after either of those).
