There will be a delay prior to the next chapter (28). My oldest friend (we've known each other for just over 60 years) has just had a biopsy for a suspected brain tumor. I just can't write while awaiting the diagnosis / prognosis.
I have a half-finished chapter and have forgotten where it was going to go. I (cleverly) cleaned up and recycled my outline as well. I will try to reconstruct my neurons and post something tomorrow.
For those of you in the SE USA, I hope you get somewhere safe.
A keen-eyed reader has written: "The flight plan via Wagga Wagga in my experience would be atypical. More likely stops between Sydney and Menindee would be Orange, Parkes or Dubbo. To travel via Wagga would be a significant southerly deviation. I am well-acquainted with both situations as my sons did their Air Force basic training at Wagga, and I have visited the far west several times - a good friend is now the mayor of the nearby city of Broken Hill."
He's right. Parkes would make far more sense. My apologies.
My heartfelt thanks to those of you who've written over the past week. I truly appreciate all the comments.
I've begun writing again; I expect to post a chapter by Friday, 23 June.
I've rather liked the last 2-3 chapters. However, the scores have fallen. As a result, I've decided to re-think where the story is going. I'm revising all of "University," so I've got time to think while I execute the revision. I'm not looking for advice, but I may have used up Patrick and Rachel.
Anyway, there won't be another chapter for at least a week.
