Walkabout is nearing its (logical) conclusion. I have two short stories in the works. One concerning Rachel's dissertation; the other concerning Patrick's future. Next year I will be eighty [!]. I hope to continue writing.
Grahame Webb is a biologist who has written at great length about crocodiles in general and the Australian salt water crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). Over 30 years ago he wrote a novel combining reptilian menace and Aboriginal Dreaming. An old friend of mine in Oxford (UK) has sent me a paperback reprint just published. NUMUNWARI was reprinted by Edward Everett Root Publishing Co., Ltd., Brighton, Sussex BN1 1BN, England. ISBN 978-1-911454-37-3. (I get no commission and have never met Prof. Webb.)
Sorry. Instead of a chapter, I posted the beginning of a different chapter. I was careless, sloppy, etc.
Thanks to those of you who were kind enough to write.
"Walkabout" is now the third-longest of my tales. I'm neither cartain how long it should be nor where it should go in the long-term. (The immediate future -- i.e. two or three chapters -- is clear.)
I encourage your input.
In response to several requests, I have written a final (brief) chapter. It ties up several threads far too tersely, but I hope it gives readers "closure."
