The Human Shift is centered around the Passage, an interstellar anomaly that permanently alters the course of humanity. What initially appears to be a harmless celestial event gradually leads to the emergence of multiple new branches of humanity, each developing along different evolutionary, biological, and social paths. While Earth remains humanity’s origin, the long term future of the Human Shift universe eventually extends beyond the planet and into the galaxy itself.
Fifteen years after The Passage changed humanity forever, Cultural Anthropologist Elena Carter finds herself spending more and more evenings in her neighbor Mary’s kitchen. What begins with warm meals and easy conversation slowly becomes something harder to define after Elena realizes she is no longer being welcomed just as a guest. This is a teaser for a much larger universe.
In the spring of 2011, humanity discovers an impossible interstellar anomaly racing toward Earth at a speed scientists cannot explain.
