These are 59 of the stories I seem to read over and over again. Some of them are Premium Access, and not all are technical masterpieces. All of them are examples of excellent storytelling. They are listed alphabetically by author's name.

Action / adventure with a somewhat steampunk feel to it. Pirates are always a plus along with a forbidden romance.

A short historical fiction story set in the middle ages.

🔽

4 - In the Navy by Argon

This is the first book in the Historical Fiction universe of Anthony Carter. I recommend the entire universe for your reading pleasure.

5 - One Gold Eagle by Argon

One of the best short stories I have ever read. The results of one random act of kindness.

6 - Pelle the Collier by Argon

A very enjoyable novel length historical fiction story set in 14th century Europe.

7 - Path To Glory by Brendan Buckley

Coming of Age, Sports and a little business. Keep some tissues handy while you read this engaging story.

8 - A Prince Too Many by Celtic Bard

Overcoming adversity and the best efforts of others to erase your existence. Fantasy setting

9 - Justice Resurrected by Celtic Bard

Same universe as 'A Prince Too many' and an excellent reluctant hero theme. I recommend reading 'Prince' first.

An action/adventure tale of survival behind enemy lines.

13 - The Angels of Bataan by D.T. Iverson

A WWII story of overcoming adversity, romance, and arguably coming of age. Includes some often-overlooked real-life heroes.

14 - Ozark Life by Dual Writer

Rags to riches country boy that refuses to compromise his values.

🔽

15 - Recluse and Ghost by Dual Writer

I am always going back to this one. My favorite Dual Writer story from a long list of great stories.

16 - Boone - The Early Years by Ernest Bywater

Another story of the trail west. One of my favorite themes with the bonus of showing the native peoples in a positive light.

17 - Mack by Ernest Bywater

This is one of my go to stories. It pays to plan ahead.

18 - Lucky Jim 1-Firehair by FantasyLover

The start of the trilogy. An alternate history of the period around the time of the U.S. civil war.

19 - Lucky Jim 2-Student, Farmer, Volunteer, Pickup Truck Diplomat by FantasyLover

The continuation of the Lucky Jim trilogy. An alternate history story set in the recent time period.

20 - Lucky Jim 3 - Cajun and Gator by FantasyLover

Future setting for this one. Creative world building.

21 - Lucky Jim 4- Prequel by FantasyLover

Another Alternate History, this time the American Revolution.

22 - Young Warrior by FantasyLover

A great story emphasizing honor and character in not only the protagonist but also his community.

23 - In My Life by Harddaysknight

A western with a lot of action and a bit of romance.

24 - Pagan O'Rourke by Indomitus

It is a Premier level story that takes action / adventure and adds a good dose of irreverent humor.

25 - Honkytonk Hero by Joe J

A top ten story for sure. Overcoming adversity and a little help from my friends are the main themes in this story.

26 - Johnny Pulaski and the Cult of Amun-Ra by Joe J

A well written story with mystery, sex, intrigue, sex, some time travel of a sort along with a polygamous relationship or two.

27 - Assassin No More by Ka Hmnd

When other's expectations conflict with your values what do you do? Fantasy.

28 - A New Beginning by Ka Hmnd

An alternate universe story. High Fantasy. One of my favorites from Ka Hmnd though I probably read each of his stories at least once a year.

29 - Tales of a Wizard's Thief by Ka Hmnd

A group of tales in a fantasy setting. Humor, action and values even if they are a little twisted.

30 - The Donaldsons by Lazlo Zalezac

Warning! Humor abounds in this tale of assimilation. The Borg have nothing on these folks.

31 - The Millionaire Next Door by Lazlo Zalezac

I could not put it down once I started reading this very thought provoking tale.

32 - Pfand X by Lazlo Zalezac

When staying in the shadows is no longer enough. I enjoy the prepper mentality of planning ahead for the inevitable disasters.

33 - The Solitary Arrow by Mack the Knife

This is an excellent example of a reluctant hero fantasy story.

34 - Mike and Malok by mcguy101

This story is one of the better modern man being sent to prehistoric society genre.

🔽

35 - Six-Months Turnaround by Morgan

Drama, Romance, Action and an impossible task with an insanely short deadline. What else does a newly hired General Manager need to make his life interesting?
