The Series follows Madailein Kavanagh as she learns to use her new Ley Line Magic to protect herself and her friends, and to keep and protect her property and house.
Madailein Kavanagh has a problem. several actually. The demon sent to kill her and its employer are unhappy that she is still alive. The other Ley Line users are unhappy that she has joined their previously all male club, as she hadn't been invited to join, but now couldn't be denied. Following the Dragons meeting with the President, the Demon that is government is aroused, and it and those in it want to know more about the Dragons and their supposedly advanced technology. They want to control it and them. It's not just the U.S. government that wants this but many other governments as well. Some are more insistent and troublesome than others. The Dragons will need to take exceptional means with some of them.
When raiders, the horse barbarians,attack their village, Nikshith fled with most of the other villagers. At 75, he soon had trouble keeping up with the younger people. He laid an ambush for the attackers and killed two of them before they killed him. An hour or so later, he came back to life, his wounds healed.
