Pete stepped on a land mine and lost both his legs.His pension went nowhere, and his only ray of sunshine in the rundown trailer park was a fourteen year old child beaten up by her mother's boy friend, who decided that he was her owner.

And the worse of it was she loved this strange crippled ex-soldier for how he treated this young waif. And then came the storm to end all storms, and he listened in on the weirdest conversation ever.

No fierce love making. No sudden wealth. No magical regeneration of his missing limbs. Just 'crunch time' when he was asked that Soul Burning Question. Enjoy!
