Hey, time flies. I cant believe it's been 7 years since I waited for each new chapter to be posted.
And it's high time people got pointed to a great set of yarns on SOL that has somehow NEVER been reviewed AND doesnt seem to come up on my Random list. [added: May be interesting. in the 24 hours since this review was posted, the story got over 200 new downloads. I dunno if that's good bad or indifferent.]
If you liked Paige Hawthorne's 'Winter' series, you're probably going to really like Carniegirl's Deputy Porter.. and then of course Sheriff Porter. And there's other similar stories. All good. And of course Mysterywriter's retired cop Ed is in the same genre. But not about a girl.
Carniegirl's Deputy Porter is a little less cynical and more down to earth than Winter is. She has to work with local yokels, not the jaded and shady KC Urban types. But she's got the same grit. This is important, though.. a lot of her grit is in overcoming her childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her father. And her subsequent apparent love-hate relationhips with ther parents. This is realistic, trust me. I know women, abused as kids, who have reacted in just the same way.
Lots of 'editing opportunities' ... meaning those who are bothered may not like the reading of it. Get past that, you're gonna like it
Oh.. it's a 'Premier" only book. But well worth the few shekels for a lot of action adventure fun.. and every once in a while she gets her ashes hauled, Big Girl Style. Just like real life.
