A very interesting, somewhat stylistic story, from StangStar06. This one is a 'cheating wife' story, as a lot of them are from this author, and it's as well done as the rest.
A soldier and his wife return from Iraq, but something is wrong. I can't really reveal too much, due to the way the story is written, so I'll simply say that I enjoyed the plotline.
There's very little sex, almost none of it explicit, and it's not meant to titillate at all. The author (and protagonist, by extension) seems to have a much more intimate regard for the Mustang in the story, than for any of the human-human relationships.
Technically, the story's sound, and it is a pretty good read. It's fairly realistic, which I appreciate in a 'cheating wife' story. The plotline is a little annoying, though, in the way it's presented. The author jumps back and forth in time, and does so in a way to build some suspense. The elements that are thereby being concealed are pretty easy to see coming, but he does build anticipation pretty well, until you're anxious for him to get to the 'good stuff'.
I enjoyed it, overall. Enough to go digging through StangStar06's collection, at the very least. This one's a good one, and I recommend it if you're a fan of the genre at all.
