Jake is with the love of his life, Allison - so why can't he quite trust her? Well, they have some history and it comes back to haunt him just as he loses his job.
He's had some rough times, was injured fighting for his country, losing the job he works on with his best friend, and now he's gotten himself into a fight with Allison. It's going to pick up his friend, drunk at a bar that he has to think about where his life is going and what things mean to him.
An interesting shorter story about a guy and the romantic hurdles he faces trying to find love.
*** I recommend reading "The Look of Love" before this to appreciate some of the later content, if you're interested in reading more then this would be the correct order for A.A. Nemo's stories.
