This is a story produced in 2010. For some reason, I never saw it until now because this is the first time I've read it. I enjoyed it greatly.
A child imagines her story as a way of getting through a very harsh life as an orphan living with an aunt who by her very nature, is cruel. And then she finds a horse in the dark, scary forest, but not just a horse, this one is a capital horse, in fact, I really should call it Horse because it's a main player in the story.
The Horse and the main character develop a very strong relationship that, under certain circumstances, leads her to a way of life best described as living in a fairytale.
And then there's the day when, as a young woman with no pressing tasks on her hands, she takes Horse for a ride back to her old town. She meets up with her brother, whom she hasn't seen for many a year. Also, her aunt was now living with the cousin who has a family, whom she charms.
On a whim, she goes back into the old house situated at the edge of the forest. She finds her other cousin and has nothing but respect for him and what he's done for his life.
This is a story about what's real and what's imagined. About a fairytale ending, although we are still early in this young woman's life. It tells you about a magical world where an animal can speak and discuss things with you. Although there really isn't all that much magic about it, my cats talk to me all the time :-)
I'm not going to rate this according to the Plot or the Technical.
For the Appeal, I will just say this: I absolutely enjoyed this little tale. I do recommend it, but do have an open mind when you start to read it.
PS: Please read the other stories by Oz Ozzie; he's a very good author and has put together quite a few really good stories. Well worth the read!
