I read Ticket to Ride shortly after it was posted. It intrigued me. It was not the usual cuckold-husband-extracts-revenge story. Well, it was, but it was different. It was well-written and had plot twists that were interesting.
So I went to Harddaysknight's page and found a half-dozen stories, all Beatles-song titled, that were tales about middle-aged, married couples with sexual fulfillment issues. Not my usual fare. I almost clicked off. Probably too close to home.
But these stories were really good. Well-written, and well-proofread and edited, they were easy to read and compelling to finish. Similarly themed, but different stories with different tacks, they are sharp, lively, hot stories that tread dangerously close to exposing adult males' secret fears and concerns to everyone's view.
That's a secret to Harddaysknight's writing. He exposes real male fantasies and worries with a tension-filled story that uses dry humor to express the horns of dilemma where his men find themselves.
I noticed that he has posted several stories in a short time—I searched and discovered a longer list on another site, so I hope we will be treated to some of the best of these in the upcoming weeks.
The ratings I chose are not only for this single story, but for the others on his author's page also. I enjoyed every one of them. The stroke amount maybe should have been scored higher. For me situations were very exciting, not so much in the straight sex scenes, but rather in the increasingly powerful sexual tension created in the stories.
