This is the continuance of the saga of Alex, Claire, and Louise, joined by Alex's adopted son Josh and a young sixteen year old Chinese girl stolen by pirates. In this tale of the Oregon Territory Alex continues as a Deputy Sheriff and discovers a piratical captain who steals young virgins in Oregon and transports them to Macao where they are sold into brothels at an alarming price.

All this on top of panning for more gold and organizing the women to cook for the gold miners.

If you do not understand why there is a need for editing and proof reading just compare this story with the first of the series.
