The Gift is Volentrin's best yet. Tom discovers that he can see the past as a young man.
As the story goes on, he finds that that's just the beginning of his abilities. He makes the mistake of letting a couple of friends know some of the things he can do and eventually finds himself on the watch-list of a secret society that operates above the law as well as being harassed by a government that knows what is best for him and his abilities.
As with all of Volentrin's works, the story is the thing. There are a couple of women but don't look for any wild sex scenes. It didn't seem to be wrapping up as well as I hoped as I neared the end, then I saw the note that said part two would be coming out. Good news indeed.
