We see in many instances the effects single thing can do. From the dog refusing to leave the dead or dying Master, to the woman and her daughter kneeling by the dying soldier in London so he would not die alone, they make a difference.
People and sometimes an opportunity to excel is all it takes to change us.
No time travel, do-overs or fantastic weapons here folks. Just a guy who falls for two women, or is it the other way around. Dorothy(For the right side of the pond,'The Wizard of Oz') may have been from Kansas, but it was never like it was after the War Of Northern Aggression(Read Civil War)

Growing up in West Texas is hard on anyone. When you have parents like Al and Terri have the fact that all they had while growing up was each other. Both graduate shortly and realize that the 20 year friendship may soon be over, or only a memory. Life is not often fair. Just when things seem to be getting better all Hell (Texas Town) breaks loose. The spelling in the story is meant as Texas slang, so be nice.

We all know I'm sure that life is never fair. There is a balance though, Life and Death have rules, limitations and even a few exceptions. Much like Magic, one offers something to get something. Usually things of near equal value. These are not relative values. The saying an eye for an eye, a life for a life are amazingly appropriate references. Let me relate some stories which may help you better understand how this works.
A new start. That's what Paul finally decided he needed. He gave his all to not only finish the job, but to insure that the objectives the customer expected were met or exceeded. Work was not just for a client, now a friend. They had worked side by side for over a year on things. Now it was over and time for him to move on. He loved his job, the work, the clients but hated his boss. Ch 1-27 have been corrected.
Chance had not been very lucky in life until it was almost too late. His line of work and his loner attitude did not help much either. Three girls change not only his life but the way those around view him. The future seems to be getting brighter, but, like life, some rain may cause the skies to darken.
Not everything turns to gold, but things are a Hell of a lot better than they were. Lest we forget, there have been a lot of sacrifices made by a lot of people to get us to where we are today. I'm not talking about the sit on their ass politicos here.
Wherever we went, my fat ass and belly went with me. One morning, at breakfast I left Lenny's after breakfast determined that it was to be the fist day of the rest of my new life. I knew I was not going to be able to do this miracle by myself. No one had said anything about my size. I was used to making jokes about it myself. When it dawned on me that I had been missing out on more than I could imagine I would try, if she would only help me.

Victor Mikel Feodor Illinova, eventually becoming Aide to the 13th, Don Cossack Regiment.
When Mollie was 18 she decided not to follow her mothers advice. The next 5 years following her choice were Hell to pay. Now though, it looks like it would all be worth it, she may have found the right guy. She had never considered with him would come so much more though. Would she be up to it? Her life had been so simple, not easy mind you but simple. Now it looked like things were going to get complicated, very complicated.
