This Story is Part of Jake's Universe
Social Security would not be enough. There was no 401K. Whats a guy to do? Finding opportunity instead of fate. Directly tied to Jake with Joy. Please read Jake Joyfully first. There very few footnotes here and no explanations. The story assumes you know this already by reading the Jake stories.

This is the story of the shaman, Glade, and her apprentice, Ivory. It is the tale of two women's lives in Ice Age Europe and Africa. Life in the Ice Age isn't easy. It isn't only due to the frozen climate in which Mammoths and Cave Lions thrive where humans struggle to survive. There are people from the Mammoth Hunters' tribe and beyond who are keen to take advantage of a shaman from another land and an apprentice who is as yet innocent of the ways of the world.

If you've never read "Black Lagoon", well, I love it, and I've got every volume. It's a Japanese manga series, you might like it, you might not, there's a lot of violence in it (go figure...) but it gave me the idea for this little story, so I hacked out this a while ago. And now, that warning: this story does have more than a little death and violence... so if that's not your thing, skip this one.

This story is a spin off from my original series, Danville Divorced Bitches Club. Much remains the same but there have been some changes in characters as well as the direction of the story. This arc is meant to stand alone but, if you haven't read it, I would suggest you do read Danville Divorced Bitches Club in order to get a good understanding of the background, specifically the bugs and their effects on the characters. Enjoy!
