Slow Stories

A story in the Earth-Xianglume Universe
When courier pilot Neris Vael and her sentient ship are thrown through an impossible dimensional accident, they crash far beyond every world they know. Daniel Mercer, a widowed farmer, makes a choice before he understands what has landed on his property: he treats the strangers at the edge of his woods as neighbours. What follows is not a story of invasion or conquest. It is a story of repairs. Necessity becomes trust. Trust becomes friendship. Friendship becomes a household.

Jim and Aimee have a chance meeting over a jar of peanut butter. In the beginning, he's a married father, she's a college student. That chance meeting in a grocery store, and the coincidence that follows, will change their lives (and others' lives)! I brought this story back to life in late 2025, more than 20 years after I first started writing it.

A Better Man Story
Continuation of A Stupid Boy Series. David is moving on to tackle college. His plan is to continue where he left off in high school. He would win a couple of national championships in football. Maybe win a college world series just for kicks. To appease his parents, he would get his degree... all while knee-deep in coeds. Then he would play both baseball and football professionally as he raked in endorsement deals. Welp. Find out how well that works out for him in the first book of a new series

When an ecological disaster threatens to plunge Caden's kingdom into a famine the likes of which has never been seen, he must journey to a ruined city in search of an ancient artifact that is rumored to be capable of commanding the heavens themselves. Unbeknownst to him, the city is protected by a fierce tribe of reptilian warriors who view it as sacred, and who will kill to protect its sanctity.

Bradford Exiles
A lot of Bradford kids "take the on-ramp" when they get out of school, heading out in search of better things. But, some don't leave, and others return when their dreams have failed. Emily is one who stayed, and now her life seems dull compared to some who left. Vicky left, but came back after a disastrous marriage. Despite everything, they learn that the home town can still be a place to thrive, grow, and realize their dreams.

Emily is a student intent on the pursuit of her career in the medical world. Then she meets Ben, a gentle man living with tragedy. A strange request leads to a night of passion, and Emily's life changes forever. A four-part story of love, passion and sacrifice.
