For more than seventy years Smith's Garage had been a fixture in the town. Someone decided that a house would look better at that location.

On an exploratory road trip to the east coast I found the perfect home in New Hampshire. Now, if I could buy it I'd be happy...If I could find someone to sell it...If I could find out who owns it...and what about the fine red lines surrounding the house when it's foggy? Why do most of the old men look alike and why are the women young, buxom, blond and beautiful. But, most of all, what casts the shadows on the windows?

Cathy is obsessed with her best friend's mom, Mrs. Glist. While her best friend showers, Cathy stares at Mrs. Glist as she dresses in the morning. Neither of them speak, but Cathy knows Mrs. Glist is letting her look at her. After Mrs. Glist has a baby, their relationship becomes more charged and Cathy admits to herself what her feelings really are.

The story of a dream come true. Not my usual type of story.
