A Swarm Cycle Story
This is the story how the inconsiderable Marine base Vandergast turns into a successful breeding colony.

Jack Coralane and the crew of the Astral Feather conduct drone hunting operations to combat a new breed of space piracy. Seemingly mundane, routine, meant to be a simple task destroying their targets from a safe distance. Their next contract, however, may not be so mundane, and could threaten to throw them into a cauldron of danger far more real than they could have ever imagined.

He wanted to find the song. He finds his song and so much more. Almost encircled, his new benefactor and lover needs his help or what her family built over generations will be torn apart. He wants to fly, but many a vulture would see his wings clipped before he can truly soar as they seek to take what he has already claimed as his. Join us to see if he can keep those he comes to treasure safe, lest the night engulf the light.

This is a Star Trek short I wrote about ten years ago, later expanded by me and edited by Steven. Though I won’t continue it, it was fun to revisit. The story follows James, washed out from Starfleet and now a drifting smuggler. In a dingy dive one day, he spots a group of fresh Academy grads. He doesn’t feel happy or sad, just, numb.

Brian is a simple man, who does a simple job very well, although he cannot read the manuals. He looked after his mother for years but now she is in a care home. Brian married late in life and is finding it hard to reason with his wife. He is proud of each of the three cars he has owned, one after the other, clearly regards the car as a 'she', and appears to believe he converses with it through the voice of the SatNav.

A Worlds of Light Story (8)
Issue #2 in the 'comic book' adventures of Midnight, super heroine of Terana. Midnight is Serenity McKesson, and this is a World of Light story, but the connections are only mentioned in passing. reading the other stories in the World of Light series isn't essential, but reading Children of Light and Weaver and the Wind in particular might prevent some confusion when reading the Midnight stories.
